
As an instructor, motivating 18 and 19 year olds can be challenging. I have utilized all the techniques taught in this module at one time or another. Understanding what motivates the individual is the key.
I agree, If students feel the information they are learning will value them at some point, they are much more likely to be engaged. If they feel they will never apply the material to their career or to the "real world" , they will have a very difficult time caring, and staying focused.
Value is the key. Puting value into your course is a excelent motivational tool. If the learner sees the value in the subject they will be more inclined to be involved in their education
