motivation
i have found that if a student is beging to lose the spark the drive the ambition what ever is was that caused the excitement in the beging is easy to recindle and get the excitment going again just get them to talk
I agree, What I do is to let student know the project they just finished, with their own hands not just anyone can do that.
I simply tell them how rewarding the job is and how much money can be made doing something they really love, Always a good motivator.
One on one connections have been vital in my motivation of students as well. However, it has also been my experience that some students have developed a difficulty in knowing where the line is between an instructor attempting to motivate them, and one attempting to develop a friendship with them. Therefore while I will continue to offer empathy to students, and encourage all instructors to do the same, I will also continue to be cautious in applying that maotivation approach.
I agree, it's important to make one-on-one connections with students now and then -- some will only open up this way!
I agree cecil, when they talk it usualy brings back old memories or activities that induce excitement and that easily finds its way back into their heart.
