motivation is strictly the students desire to learn . Are they there because they want to be or are do they still don't know what they want to do
Depends on their motivation, do they want to better themselves in a new career field, or do they want to better themselves personally and educationally? If they strive to do both, I believe they will have the most motivation and determination to complete whatever task is at hand.
I think motivation is a very powerful tool that we all have to help students and instructors alike be empowered to continue to set there own goals.
12 weeks of theory would zap my motivation to mybe if we energized them with a trip to dyno after theory the would be ready for the next step.
Hi LaWanda,
Well said. Motivation is a powerful force to keep students focused on why they are in school in the first place, but as you say it easy to sometimes lose sight of the end goal of being a well trained professional in their career area. Keep up the encouragement. I know your students are benefiting from it.

You have to keep in mind, students enroll in Career Colleges for all sorts of reasons. They need constant motivation and encouragement through their entire time - many fall off because of the lack of motivation
