Motivation
Motivation comes in many forms, but the students have to be them selves motivated to bethere not just stuck there but family or relatives.

Right you are about being in class and taking a break from their responsibilities for a while. In addition it should be pointed out to them that they are building the foundation of a better life for themselves so they need to apply themselves to learning all that they can.

Well said. In terms of motivation, it needs to come from within if the student is going to really benefit from the instruction. External motivation is good when it comes from the instructor, family and friends but in the final analysis the student has to see the benefit of being in the career program and the opportunities that will result from the training received.
