looking at everthing with a new light

After the first week of my class, I start off the next class by asking now how do you look at food and this career now. Then the stories & discussions begin. They are amazed what they have already learned in one week. This keeps the class motavated and wanting to learn more.

Yes sharing experiences allows the students to know the the instructors are "real"---also after the first week of school show the students how much they learned in one week is valuable.

I use same method with my students, and also give them new challenge for following week. I think they need to know the accaplishment on thier work.

Hi Anthony,
I really like your use of student experiences to help them understand how far they have progressed in just a week. These are critical building blocks of their students' total career development process.
