I have used the Mnemonic technique. Also, if you can relate a story or something that they will associate with whatever you want them to remember, they will.

There are many techniques that instructors can use to helps students retain content. If you can give me a little more information I will be glad to share some strategies with you. For example, if there is a lot of memory work required there are a number of strategies instructors can use such as the loci method.
