movatavation and student learning
I find I need to use many different types, and styles to motivate my students. inc. their age, life experiences and culture. this has been very helpful in the way I interact with my students.
Hi Leslie,
Way to go in customizing your instruction to meet the needs of all your students. By bringing each student into the learning process you are keeping them moving forward toward their career goals.

Yes, I try to get involved with all students, knowing that some are very shy, some comprehend more slowly, some are very young and not as disciplined. But changing the delivery of course material and having them work in groups helps.
Keeping the students interest and motivation takes getting to know each of the students strengths as well as weaknesses and working with them on both.
an instructor must learn to identify what different types of learning styles motivate and assist students in retaining information.
I think the older guys, in our field are most evolved, they tend to participate more and show leadership to other students in the class.
Hi Jason,
Way to go in bringing the entire class together as a learning unit. Your confidence and competence is what makes this happen. Keep up the good work.
Gary
Some times i find it harder to keep the older guys in line sometimes since they see my as a younger guy who doesnt know what im talking about. After i show them that i do it keeps them motivatied and willing to learn.
Yes Nancy, it takes all those items and more. I find that keeping them upbeat on the topic and continually active keeps them motivated, especially the evening students!
