motivating

always looke happy when your sad. staying on you toes. the students need your smile and motivation to push them to the end.

I agree that you should never let your own personal life have an influence on your class. If you come in angry or sad, the class will feed off the energy you present. The instructor is the leader, and as such needs to keep the focus on the class and not personal issues.

Hi Dennis,
I am sure your explanation does bring a lot of smiles to the students as well. Good way to bring a bit of lightness to the online class.
Gary

I try to smile a lot for my online courses. But this is sometimes difficult. I explain to my students I have a face perfect of onilne courses.

This is true and it usually brings back good responses.

You are right. I think if you sometims keep pushing it will give them that last effort to make a even better grade.

Always show enthusiasm when teaching. The way an instructor presents themselves in class will definitely say how much a student will stay in the class and learn.

I agree, students will pick up on your emotions. It's best to go in everyday with a smile on your face and be enthusiastic because we love what we do.

Exactly, because if you show your emotions to your students, they will do the same in the classroom. We must lead by example. Part of our role as teachers is to promote professionalism.

Hi Carolyn,
Good point and one we need to remember as we approach the classroom each time. We need to keep in mind the impact we are having on the lives of our students and make sure we are the role models they need to see.
Gary

When we are in lecture with our students, they become the center of the universe. It is difficult enough for some students to get up and come to class, so we must do all we can to encourage and motivate them to reach the sky seeking to get to the top. As an instructor, students see us as role models.

Hi Erica,
Good advice for everyone. When we are in the public eye, such as we are as teachers we need to always bring our best to the classroom no matter how things are going for us outside of the learning environment.
