Motivating Studnets

It is so important to share your education, history, and job history. Students want to feel connected and they like to hear their instructors give real world scenarios and examples as to how they made it in their career. At most community and career colleges, instructors are working full time in their field and students really find they can ask questions. This gets the discussion going and the motivating look like one day they want to accomplish their goals and dreams.

I agree also. I love bringing up real life experiences to my students and they love hearing about them as well. I feel it prepares them more for situation that might occur in the "real world" whether its a good or bad situation and how to deal with it properly.

I agree as well. My students love "real world" experiences as they can see what we are learning in class will be applied in the career they are striving for.

I agree. As a nurse of nearly 30 years, now instructing, I find that students receive a better understanding of situations presented when real life experiences are included in the instruction. Of course you always have to be careful not to go overboard, otherwise you are defeating the purpose.
