Best Practices
I have been asked to sit on a committee for best practices in teaching - with a focus on authentic projects and lessons. Any advice?
Hi David,
Good point. Gives you a starting point for developing your own instructional style.

Review the best and worst teachers you had, kindergarten through college. Do what the best did.
Hi Sharion,
What a great opportunity for you. I am a big fan of using case studies and problem solving situations in classes. Have the instructors share with you what their assignments are now and then talk with them how they might be able to make the assignments more authentic, such as having them observe people in their field and do interviews or use more field direct examples in their lectures. You will be surprised how quickly the instructors come up with a list of exciting and relevant assignments that can be used in their classes. They just need some guidance on how to use them and the Best Practices Committee can do that.
