Student Embassadors

We have implemented student embassedors who are the best students with good grades, excellent attendance, and we allow them to come and help peer to peer with tutoring that is guided and student functions to give them something to strive for.

Sonja,
So have I and I support Sonja's remarks. Student ambassadors are a great asset to the overall engagement of students not to mention increased retention.

Hi Everyone,
I have worked where student ambassadors were a key in the student population. They motivate, engage, help as needed and are the glue of the program. Great, great, comments.

Melissa,
Great program. I appreciate how you have it laid out and the impact it has on students. This is a program where peer to peer interaction helps everyone to expand their abilities to help and support each other.

I just started the Student Ambassador program at my school. I think it is a great way to motivate students and get students involved in other areas of the school besides the classroom. Our Ambassadors assist with school functions such as, peer tutoring, graduation ceremonies, new student orientation and student/staff appreciation ceremonies. The faculty and staff nominate students to the Ambassador program by writing a brief description as to why they believe this student would make a great Ambassador. We then vote on the nominees each month during our retention committee meetings.

Linda,
Thanks for sharing this support system with us. I know it will be of value to other schools that are looking for ways to provide support to students while recognizing those that working hard to be successful.
