Motivating students for work.
The best motivation I use in class is talking about the students future job opportunities in the field. This can be from talking about current job openings, different types of jobs, what's expected, tools used on certain jobs. When I get them all focused in one direction. The material is no longer a conveyed with lecture, but turned into a discussion.
AS a medical instructor, I bring in former student who have taken this course, and let them talk with the student and explain to them the jobs opportunity that is out there once they have finish with their externship and graduated from school.
Ryan,
Great way to connection the dots of now and the future for students. They need to see their investment of time, money and effort now will result in a future for them. This is when they get the ROI they are seeking from their schooling.
