Teaching Style.
Teaching style is very important in controlling the environment in the classroom. This can be difficult if the classroom is in a computer lab. Due to social media, students may update their status or comment on a friend picture. It's important to show that the information is not only important, but useful. When students understand the material and can relate to it, they find it useful. This is when they give 100% in the classroom.

Two words come to mind as a result of your comments. Application and relevance. Students need to see both as they progress through a course. Your approach helps them to see both and that is what keeps them giving the 100%. Keep up the good work.
