I find that mant of my students have a hard time at retention. So I have them do it over and cver again. I encourage them so they won't give up.

I agree and also have them look up answers in referance material and books with me and share the info with other class members.

I find that reviewing material from previous day's lecture in the first part of the next class enables the student to retain more information. Also during labs I make them think through their questions which they usually answer. I have a motto that I tell the class "There are no problems, just unthought of solutions".
