Role Model
I find that students look up to us as instructors. They may not aspire to be an instructor, but they appreciate our knowledge and experience. It is important for us to always keep this in mind as we try to deal with our daily challenges. We need to leave it behind us and put on our game faces when entering our classes.

Good policy. Mine as well. I get cranked up when I see my cell phone policy violated. Generally this happens only once during each course because they see the consequences of the violation and that ends the problem.

I always tell my students that "this is your time" & the out side world will still be there after class.When you are in class I give you my undivided attention & I expect that from you as well , so no cell phones( w/ exceptions of emergencies of course!)or text messages.
