Involvement
Getting all students involved in the classroom and laboratory is very important.
I absolutely agree! I find that my students retain much more of the matierial that I have given them when they hear it first from me, and then we do an activity to show relativity in their career choice as well as reinforce the information. When they see the what the value of the information is in reference to the career, they enjoy class much more and get more out of it.
Keeping the students involved will help them with teamwork skills and also with retention of information.
I agree having the students bring in real life situations that they have experienced helps me as the instructor and the other students in class.
I agree. Students must be involved in order to start the learning process. I try to ask questions to get them involved. Also, I will share personal experiences and ask the students to comment as well. This tends to really get the conversation going. Sharing events that occurred in the news is a good ice breaker as well.
