Personal support by an instructor is so important for students especially those that have some doubts as they get closer to graduation. Your giving that extra bit of encouragement at this stage in their training helps them to see that they can be successful if they will continue to put forth the effort.

Simply put positive reenforcement or small rewards based on the larger goal. For instance if I see a student who is doubting his ability to graduate or make it in the field of 3d development , I look at past projects with him and compare those with projects that are being developed by professionals in the field. I point out the stronger elements of student work in relation to how close of a professional that student is actually becoming. This comparison method has helped more then just a few students seeing the end goal of graduation in my teaching career.
