Students as class members
Instructors must recognize what it takes to make all students feel important and valued. Taking time to know their students will help the instructor develop methods that will retain the student's interest.

You have established a patern to teach other instructors on campus your rentention method. I sometimes find it hard on how to get students to feel important and valued outside of the course.
I know from personal experience what you have done for my daughter, who was your student- now still being mentored by you- and is now a fellow instructor. Your personal example teaches fellow instructors to care for thier students rather than thier paycheck.

So true. This is what makes teaching so enjoyable. We get to impact lives and demonstrate our concern for preparing the next generation of individuals to enter our field.
