Enthusiasm and Student Retention
It is important as an instructor that you are enthusiastic about what you are teaching. It is also important that you know the material. If you keep your class exciting you will keep your students.
I agree - you must be careful to keep it positive.
Yes,it is important that enthusiasm is a key element in what you are trying to convey.I always tell my students that "you" are what makes this class fun,what it is ,what it will be,it's you, me, all of us-together,let's have some fun and do it !

Right you are. If you set the tone for the class the students will reflect that tone. The same goes for a negative tone as well. It is so much easier to teach engaged students as we all know.
