How can I maintain the students on task in a calss of 60 students teaching Anatomy & Physiology??
One way is to break the class into sub-groups, d.where you have students who really understand the material in each group to help those who do not understand. However, be careful those who understand the material have the tendancy to take over the class. You can monitor that as well. Good luck.

Sounds like you really enjoy being an instructor. By offering variety and change of pace you can keep your students engaged and your own motivation level high. This makes teaching so rewarding for everyone.

I find big classes fun and challenging especially with the subject matter like A and P. I find if I move constantly, throw out questions, bring in samples, I can keep the class moving. Also use as many games and biological specimens as you can. It does take some prep work, but there's usually a demonstration for every anatomical system you discuss.

Can you create learning groups? I find that breaking the students into groups of 3-5 each and then assigning problem situations so they use the previously presented content to solve the problems. This really helps to keep the engaged.
