Yes

I love how we can help the students get through this.

Benjamin,
I like your approach of showing relevancy and application of math to your students. The real life examples help to reinforce the value of your content and keep them engaged.

I teach math at my college, so I am always looking for examples of real life situations. I believe that every method has at least 1 real life problem for every student. Once you know the majors of your students, it becomes a fun activity to seek out the application together.

Tina,
It is times like this that keeps us teaching. That call, letter or email telling of success gives us a high that says all our efforts are worth it.

When a student calls in to let us know they passed State Board or let us know they were successfull in finding a job in their field is most rewarding. It is also nice when a student lets you know that you really helped them in understanding a topic after they had came to you for help.

When students come back to me and apply what was taught in class to a real life situation. This makes me say YES, IT WORKED!

Raphael,
What has been your greatest reward from being able to help your students be successful? Thanks for your input on this.
