Instructors as Sounding Board
I always like to get comments and listen to what they have to say, because I always learn things. This adds to my knowlege and how to help other students and myself be a better teacher. the student then becomes a better to teacher, because they can rely information back to someone else.
Because our students come from a viariety of backgrounds and careers it is always a great idea to foster an environment of open communication. You never know what ticks of the trade or new skills that may be present in your class of students.
Deborah,
Good point. Listening is a valuable learning tool we teachers need to make a part of our instructional strategy. When listening we can learn so much about our students and what they want to accomplish in our classes.

If you listen to what sound has to say it might also help someone else out in the long run.
