encouragment
showing your students that your excited about a topic will also get them excited and also pointing out the good points as also their bad points and complimenting on the good get their confidence up
i agree with you lillian. everyone does need to feel encouraged about things otherwise they think you dont care about them. i always encourage my students because i once was in their shoes. i was scared nervous and didnt think i could accomplish anything. but the teachers were great and they saw something in me that they kept pushing me to do my best. Just that one word saying or phrase saying take a deep breath concentrate and go for it makes them feel more calm and then they get their assignments done along with the tasks too.
I notice a difference when some time is taken to reflect on what has been learned and achieved instead of what there is still to learn. There is always more to learn.
Carmen,
Glad to hear it. The more real life that can be brought into the classroom the greater the connection is going to be between content and application.

I keep my class motivated allowing them with life experience. and this topic was very helpfull
I do believe this. My students often look for my level of excitment for a topic and usually this will alter how that view a subject.
I feel that everyone need to be encouraged. The degree will vary from one person to another. But, when you tell someone that theydid a good job, this will encourage them to do even better. Make sure encouragement is valid and deserved.
