Enthusiasm
Enthusiasm is extremely infectious. Even on a Monday morning. Coffee helps. I recommend dangerous levels of caffeine!
Kathryn,
I teach a required gen ed course and I can relate to your comments. The students need to see the value of the content being offered and make application of what is being learned. So through your passion and enthusiasm you are helping your students see the value of English in their career development.

I totally agree. I teach English and I know that it is not everyone's favorite topic. I have to be excited about it, overly excited, otherwise why would my students be? I think that we need to be as happy and enthusiastic about our topics in class as we were the first day we decided it as our major.
Jeremy,
Being a coffee user myself I support your comments. If we bring passion for our field and enthusiasm for teaching about it to class each and every time we are going show our students why we are teaching what we are and bring them along for the learning journey.
