Security and Success

Students who have a sense of security from the start can also have greater success at the end.
Students can build up a strong foundation to secure confidence and beliefs to their self.

I have found that some self-disclosure about challenges in the classroom...stemming from my own education can help break the ice and build trust between the students and myself. I also give detailed instructions for projects, give multiple examples and am available to answer questions. This dual level approach-ability seems to help the students feel secure in asking questions and also provides them with a degree of certainty that they are completing the assignments correctly.

Making a student feel comfortable is very important. The more a student feels comfortable with you as an instructor they are more likely to open up more so that you will have a better chance to properly teach them. Reaching a student is half the battle when to comes to providing good instruction.
