ED112 Influencing Student Motivation
This course is one of the course's most instructors should take.
Knowing how to motivate adult students, have them participate in classroom discussions. As an instructor, we can give the sense of security that most students require. This could also help them in becoming more motivated and they could become better students.
Continuing to tie the class room lecture with real life experience helps to keep the students interested. Making the students lab tie in with class lecture and real life experiences is also a must. As an instructor I make sure each student does their hands on lab and also understands the connection to real life expectations. This was a great course. Thanks.
Brandon, well stated. Can you share some of the techniques you use in your own classroom that have yielded the best results in getting students engaged within your classroom? Thanks for anything you can share.

Paul, thanks for your affirmation. What are some of the techniques you use to get students more involved with your curriculum? Thanks for anything you can share.

I agree with everything you said. Yes, as instructors it is important to make any class productive and provide FUN activities so the students can relate.
I do agree that all instructors should take this class. When I first started teaching, I had a whole different outlook with this discussion. I thought that it was the student responsibility to make themselves get motivated with their classes. After a couple of quarters teaching, I realize that myself (as an instructor) responsibility is to motivate and keep the class interested to bring more outlook for the student and the instructor. As an educator, I believe it is my responsibility to keep the student motivated and interested in the subject matter. I do not like teaching a boring class so why should the student enjoy it.
My Motto: Keep the subject interested for not only myself but for the student.
