Students as Customers - Conflict resolution
How does this perspective and teaching style affect disciplinary actions?
Hi Chris,
That's right! We control the classroom, not students. Do not tolerate disruptive behavior of any kind from students. Reprimand them accordingly.

When it comes to conflict resolution or disciplining students, the "customer" is NOT always right...and it's part of our job as a teacher AND classroom manager to let students with inappropriate behavior know that what they did will not be tolerated and remind them of the consequence.
Hi Guy,
That's right! We have to teach students about the real world while being in the classroom.

Patricia I agree.....students are paying for a service(learning/gaining knowledge/skill)but they have to learn they are responsible for their actions. Infractions will not be tolerated in the work place and should not be condoned by instructors.
Hi Matt,
You still let them know when they are wrong, and you reprimand them accordingly as you would do anyone else.
