I have found the students, and especially my older ones really appreciate the structured daily outline. so they know the breakdown of the days topics and they can plan for it, either by reading a chapter before class or writing notes before hand for questions

Some students just need to do it in order to get it. We have to try to reach all types of learners.

I have found no matter the age, they all like variety. I had a 25 year old and a 58 year old in my class who were both tactile learners, and they really appreciated part of my lecture being geared to them. It's a challenge, but so worth my effort.

Variety is always good for students because students do learn in different ways. When I teach I try to reach all the different types of learners.
