Immediacy
It was really nice to see that this topic of immediacy. I feel that it describes me. I am always trying to get all things done as fast as possible because I don't want to leave anything undone. Knowing that I can relax a bit truly has given me freedom which will create a refreshing change for my student interactions.
Sara,
Immediacy, also, describes me perfectly. However, I have modified my approach over the years. For as long as I can remember I have completed tasks as soon as possible. However, with my "maturity" and "wisdom", I have noticed that while I still try to get things completed as soon as I can, I prioritize the tasks much better and I am not as stressed out, when I do not get everything done. This module has reinforced what I need to continue to do. :-)
I tend to also fall under the immediacy department. With my busy schedule it pushed me to not procrastinate. It truly bothers me to procrastinate anything that should be done immediately, and at times, it seems that everything is of equal importance. I do not like to let things go until the next day rather the tasks need to be done without delay. By learning to let go a little and pace myself it should allow me the opportunity to have more time for other things in my life.
Sara - I tend to be more of a procrastinator! That is what probably leads to the stress I feel most of the time. I'm going to try to be more like you & get things done right away and see if that works for me.
