I used to always make a to do list. I will probibly go back to that because it does help to organise your time.

Yes, having a checklist before class is great, especially if you can use it semester after semester.

I can identify my time management as I need to get to a check list of before class time. It is very frustrating personally when I as an instructor get into a lecture and didn't either grab the proper training aids or handouts. Witch would be as easy as having a checklist before class to go thru, to make sure this would be avoided.

I absolutely agree,
ever since i started to write down a list of daily task by priority I have reduced the amount of stress on a daily basis, however there is always going to be last minute things that will take you out of your rhythm, but as long as you have that list you can always get back to it.

I need to make a to do list.A daily and a weekly list. I also put things off, then rush to get things finished.I make myself crazy!

In my position of TTL and only one of 2 instructors to teach this class. I struggle to take control of my time. I find the only time to get control of my time is between classes when doubling ,and all i can when singling.

Planning and scheduleing is a must. You need to make a list and prioritize the things that need to be done.If things come up that have to be done you work them in or deagate them to someone else.

Not finishing the task at hand in a timely manner. Knowing how long it takes and setting up a timeline when I am taking notes. This is important when you have to get certain subjects for the obgective that need meet for that days work or lecture. Buy a watch so I can track time better for me.

It sounds like you have found a method that works for you Terry. Keep it up!

I don't feel like I have a problem dealing with taking control of time. I like to attack my tasks as they come up. Just "getter done". I will do the easy or short tasks first and get them out of the way and do the more time consumming tasks when I have a chance.

Tasks that need to be done but there is no time to get them done. What I need to do is re-organize priority and work on them one at a time to get them done, also to deligate some of them to get them done sooner.

As a Chef Instructor this is one of the topics that we teach my students, a good way for me is to make a time line this way I have more control of my time, to a more productive day without the stress of living something behind.

This is true Thomas. One thing we have to accept is that the obstacles will continue to present themselves. You will never completely work down your list of stressors. How you handle this is what differentiates you.

Sounds like you have a great system Mike. It's similar to mine. I like the feeling I get when I check tasks off the list. Makes me feel like I'm making progress.

Every day I make a list of tasks to complete and check them off as I go.I prioritize them and set aside the ones that need special attension so they dont add to the stress level. Then return to those that need more time and attension.

You are always going to have obstacles to over come but trying to put them in some sort of order will really help and complete each in order to keep yourself on course.

I know what you mean Robin. I try to get it all done as fast as I can and stress out when it isn't completed in the time that I think it should take.
I try what you have talked about and get back to you.

Ihave found for me to overcome this obstacle I must look at each task individually and then prioriotize based on what i see needs to be done when.

Prioritizing tasks in order of importance is something I need to work on. It seems that there is never enough of you to go around. Also when some one changes the game plan after it has already been implemented this really tries your patience.

A few things pop up my desk never gets clean. I always have many things going at the same time. I belive in a to do list I dont always put them in order that they need to be done what I plan to change is to be more organized and touch things once like when you read a e-Mail read and then do something with it like delete it put it in a file dont come back to 3 or 4 times.
