Take care of things in a timely manner
I wonder if I don't proscratinate on some tasks because they are boring. By putting a time pressure on them, it makes it more interesting.
I only put things off when I'm not sure which ones are most important to do first & not let students and other people interupt me.
Even though it may be human nature to save the most difficult tasks for last, I think that sometimes there is a sense of satisfaction to do the most difficult first as a "reward' to get to the easier tasks later.
Yes, this is true Michael. Most people need to complete a few easy tasks first before they work their way up to completing a difficult task.
I think human nature would have most people putting the most difficult tasks last. I think it takes great self discipline to tackle the worse tasks first.
It is easier to do the most annoying, difficult or time consuming tasks first rather than putting it off.
It's important for the instructor to have good planning and time management. How can we expect our students to turn their work in on time, if we don't do our own grading on time?
We must set a good example for the students.
I always take care of my teaching responsibilities on the same days of the week. I think it's important to have a strict schedule. Homework is graded on the third afternoon after the due date.
Complete tasks as they arise . No time to go back.
