Wow, sounds like you are already very organized Michael. Great work using your to do list and doing so so effectively.

I have used a to do list for many years. It helps tremendously in keeping you organized and making sure you do not forget anything. Using either a number system or a color coded system helps keep me on track and prioritized. It really helps keep you in control of your every day affairs.

I also use my online calendar as my to do list. But I do prioritize the list on the calendar. I even back it up on my phone so I don't miss anything.

to do lists are a very affective tool. When used properly they can eliminate a lot of stress. It's amazing how much of a load off of you it can be just by writing things down on a little piece of paper.

Yes, to do lists work great for both the home and the workplace. It's sometimes nice to consolidate items from each place onto a single list so we can view everything that needs to be accomplished at once.

To do lists always helps me stay on track. Especially when I have alot to do and feeling overwhelm.

I have used to do lists for years....they help me stay organized and help to remind me of things I need to get done. I use them at work and at home. (The remind me to make appointment, get certain groceries, make certain calls, and get certain things done).

i do not use a to do list i am very organized but i keep important notes on my cell phone with different ring tones to notifiy me of the importance

My to do list is my life saver at times. With all the things that I have to accomplish as an instructor and studio owner I would forget to do so many things without it. And it does help to relieve stress.

I'm glad you agree Carlos. And this is true. When you get tasks down on paper, you get them out of your mind. This helps your brain relax and focus on other important things.

Yes, a to do list is an important and powerful tool. When you keep something in your head your brain doesn't really know when its due and it will keep reminding you adding stress and uncertainty. When you write down what you have to do the brain relaxes and you can occupied in other stuff. Your brain is relax and more effective.
Trust me it works.

I bet some of those video production check lists and equipment lists can be used multiple times. I might try to see if you can save one on file and see how many items apply each time you film.

A to-do list proves crucial in my industry. When planning a video production a check list, equipment list, and everything else that goes with making a video. This is the same process we teach our students when making a music video. Through my experience I have noticed the biggest problem with students and instructors is organization of their day.

I really like the idea of using an XL application to create a to do list. Thanks for sharing Michelle! I also like the approach of taking a look each morning and evening to make sure you're staying on track.

Hello Ebony,

Initially when reading your comment I did wonder if you were stressed from doing everything all at once. But once I made it to the end of your comment you already answered my question.

My new question is has creating a to do list helped remove stress?

Hello Everyone,

I live and breath by my to do list, I actually created on using the Excel application. In the morning when I turn on my computer it is the first thing I see and at night before bed it is the last thing I see before shutting down.

Initially (years ago) I accomplished tasks and simply used my brain to remember what was finished and what needed to be done. That did not work for long a to do list is also something I recommend students create to remain organized.

Yes, it sounds like you are struggling with the obstacle of immediacy Ebony. Do give list making a try. It very well could put you at ease.

I have never used a to do list maybe because I am so anal that I do everything all at once, so maybe a list will help me to become less stressed.

Excellent Robert. And yes, prioritization really can make a huge impact on your productivity. Go ahead and give it a try.

I really learned alot about the importance of prioritizing my to-do list from this module. I usually make to-do lists for everything but I rarely prioritize according to importance and urgency. This will greatly increase my overall productivity.
