take control of your time

You, as the instructor, need to learn how to manage your time most effectively. I found it is best to make a list and try to prioritize what is most important to what is least important. It is essential to do the most important tasks first even if you are tempted to do the easiest tasks first.

This is an important perspective Herve. There are many events in our institutions that we are required to attend and that are not in our control. We've got to focus on the things that are.

i find some irony about the opening statement saying that we have control of our time when most institutions dictate a tremendous of time constraints: orienattion days, graduation days, deadlines, mandatory training and countless paperwork that most teacher have to subit to
managing the time in the classroom and classroom related activities (prep/grading etc) is fairly easy but let's not kid ourselves about all the extra administrative obligations on which we have no control possible.

putting pen to paper with a prioritized list really helps relieve stress because sometimes trying to keep a log inside can feel overwheming.

I feel the same way. Having my to do list keeps me on track and I feel more at ease because it is written dowm. I keep it updated and this helps me feel like I am accomplishing what I neeed to do and very organized.

Iwork from an out line and adjust as the class contenues

My "to do" list keep me on track on a daily basis. I feel more relaxed the more I check off.
