procrastination
I do find myself doing this with my class prep and I have learned new ways NOT to do this and it is making a world of a difference
Melanie, This is indeed true. Sometimes the best way to teach is to simply lead by example. Surprisingly, that's often hard for instructors to do. Often times, we are just too busy and our hurried state makes an impression on impressionable people around us.

As instructors we shouln never procrastinate becuse it will set a bad example to our students. We should always be prepared and lead by example.

So true. When we feel unprepared, it can really throw us off. We've got to get ourselves to a point where we feel comfortable and confident about how we manage our workload, otherwise it shows.
I give my students large projects with little "check points" throughout so they can keep on track and not wait until the last minute.
I agree as well...I find that putting tasks off really makes you feel unprepared for class.
I have found that students that are unorganized have the hardest times with NOT putting off assignments until the last minute. Now I give them the assignments for the entire quarter with the deadlines for each assignment. I find this works well!
I agree, Rhonda! This is something I have also done in my teaching and is making a world of difference. Also it makes my life a bit more simple in my approach and prep for class.
