To Do Lists for Home and School

I like the idea of using to do lists. I have been doing it for years. However, I have two to do lists: one for school and a different one for home. Then while I am at school, I am looking at only the tasks I need to do there. I am not tempted to focus on what I have to do at home that night. When I go home, I then look at the to do list for home and focus only on this list. I find this way I do not slip into a procrastination obstacle of "worrying about things that I cannot do now." If I look at home things at school, I am too likely going to be thinking about those tasks; many of which I cannot do at school anyways. I then take valuable time away from the tasks I could be doing at school

Aaron, Sounds like you have a system that's working well for you. Great to hear! Yes, a lot of instructors find that having one list can simplify things substantially. With it, we can see the total landscape of tasks that we need to complete.

I am glad that this works for you. I wonder if it would for me, though. I typically just have 1 list for home, work, school, etc. I am not sure if I could keep up with more than 1 list!

I typically have just 1 list for work, school, home, etc. I do find myself writing the list in the morning as a rough draft. Then, I will prioritize and organize the list according to how my day is situated. If I work during the day, I will organize my work stuff first on the list.

I keep 2 notepads on my desk and I write all the things that I need to do that week and I keep adding as things come up. Then I work on my daily to do list and I prioritize my to do items. I cross out as I accomplish my tasks and I continuously renumber my lists until I have crossed out everything. If I don't finish everything for that day I move the unfinished items to the following day.

I love "to do list." I have a calendar that I keep a daily "to do list" in. Beside each date in the calendar I write the assignments or errands that must be completed by this date. I also, keep meetings and appointments (work and personal) in this calendar. I could not live without it.

I prefer to integrate the two. Not having 2 seperate lives.

I, too, have been making lists for years. It keeps me more organized and if I don't have one I forget things I need to do! I also feel more accomplished when I can mark off things on the list.

I can not live a successful life without a to do list. It sets the stage for my whole day, week, or even month. My daughter who is only 9 years even writes a to do list. it is ithe key to success.

I find the more I have to do in work and life that to do list are a great tool to remember what needs to get done.

The thing I had to get over is starting lists and never crossing things off. I will make a grocery list then leave it at home when I go to the store. Since taking this course I have been doing better. :)

I frequently use to do lists, at work, home and if I am traveling. It feels like an accomplishment when you get to cross items off the list
