Based on my schedule I always try to do things on time. Its only when Holidays hit that throws me off schedule a little but I always get things done.
Hey there , i am currently going to college myself and just had a class on time control and task priority. Most of the info is the same so i have already incorporated it in my daily routines. Works great for the most part !
I have a Dr note that only allows me 8-10 hrs a day @ school due to my back. I manage tasks, back pain and stress every day, some days basck pain wins, sometimes stress. one thing is for sure, it was the 5 sugeries that causes my back pain not the stresws!!
:)
I am pretty good about completing important/urgent tasks on time. I have already implemented the "to do list" tactic into my life. I am just too busy...without it something would be forgotten. I keep a planner that I update on a regular basis and I use the notes area to stay on top of tasks I need to accomplish. I actually already adhere to many of the time management methods outlined in the module. It just makes life more efficient.
Hi Joan,
The fact you are willing to make an effort is a great step forward. I wish you the best with your stress reduction. I know we all need to work on it in the world that we operate.

I had taken a time management seminar several years ago as part of a management training prograM. I have and continue to utilize the methods personally and professionally. Time management helps to accomplish all that needs to be completed in practical ways

I'm great at doing whats on a list.... when I make the list!!! :) sometimes I get it into my head that I don't need to make a list and thats where I mess up. With this info I will work on making more lists.
I usually try to acomplish as many as possible as soon as possible. It will take baby steps to change old habits, but, my goal is stress free so I am willing to try new ideas
Hello. Dr. Read,
As a preface, I own and manage a business and I teach part-time. I usually always choose to accomplish the most important, urgent, and time-sensitive tasks first. Only in the event of an "emergency" or " major unexpected events" does this change my routine and habit. BTW...I am 21 years old and have over 30 years of experience! (haha)I am pretty well set in my ways! I had very good teachers who taught me what was really important.
Yes, go ahead and try to slow down Frank. I rarely recommend this approach but immediacy can be a challenging problem and detrimental to ones schedule.
Sounds like you have the right approach Alphia. It's nice to be able to stay on top of things and feel confident about our progress. At the same time, be careful of falling pray to immediacy as it can lead to some challenges too.
Sounds like a great plan Debbie! It's nice to take just a few minutes at the start of each day to come up with a good plan of action for how you'll accomplish things. Then you can really move forward with confidence.
Sounds like you have gotten more organized over the years Susan. It's nice to take the time to develop an approach that works best for you. Knocking a few quick tasks off the list early is a great approach.
My usual approach is to accomplish those tasks which take the least amount of time to finish first, and then move on to the larger tasks. Each afternoon as I am wrapping up my workday, I write down a list of the tasks I need to accomplish the next day. When I start work in the morning I look at my list of tasks and start tackling them based on amount of time to complete. If an urgent task needs done, I plan out how much time it will take to complete. If it is a lengthy task, I will try to break it up into smaller tasks and complete one small task at a time. In the past, I was guilty of needing to get everything done as soon as it hit my desk. I found this was leading me to be stressed and burned out.
I always take the time to acommplish the task correctly and when ready I do it.So I usaually get it done right away.
I will set aside time first thing in my day for this, then as the day ciontinues as things come up I am in better frame of mind and less stressed to handle them.
I usually prioritize my task, i am not a procrastinator and like to do things right away. I get very stressed if i have an important task to complete and i am behind.
I tend to want to accomplish tasks right away and this has created issues in my time allotments.
Yes. I will put what students need to know first.
I could always be more organized. Will wokk on some of these suggestions.
