Yes, it would be a good idea to start David. But it's ok to start small and work your way up. You can slowly evolve into the person you'd like to be.

Yes, it's true that we've got to follow through too Caroline. That's the other half of the battle. But it's nice to know you get such a great feeling when you check things off the list. That kind of feeling can give you the motivation you need to keep moving.

That sounds like a great plan Scott. It might be hard to completely stop procrastinating if that's your work style. Perhaps you could start small and attack a few important tasks first.

I have always been big on "to-do" lists. I even have an app for one on my google homepage so I can't avoid it. Its there as soon as I log on! I prioritize my list by importance and I accomplish the most critical and necessary tasks first, regardless of how large, or intimidating they may be. As I finish something, I cross it off the list, so I don't think I often re-prioritize my list.

My full time job as an IT person actually requires that urgent tasks come first. This has even meant that I have to stop what I am currently involved in or working on to fix a more important issue. Task prioritization as a teacher is easy compared to my daily work. There are times when I even have to interrupt personal/family tasks to take care of an urgent task for work. I do sometimes have to use the skills I have to determine which urgent task takes priority over another urgent task. Also I have to know when to "throw in the towel" on a particular task and go with plan B.

So at this point my order will not as my order is really dictated by the end user.

Generally ,I procrastinate if it's a task I don't want to do. With this fresh information I will avoid procrastination, and meet my deadlines.

I too am good at making list, but the follow through is the tough part for me. For me making the list in the first place is half the battle, I feel much better after making check marks after completed task and feel I can move on to the next one.

i do not priortize anything and need to start soon

I often am over ambitious with my time I'm learning every day to not over fill my plate

I tend to put task off for another time. After reviewing this module I see the need to finish task ahead of time in order to free up time for later use. I will work on putting urgent task first.

After finishing the module, I have considered restructuring my priorities to better manage my time. I truly believe this will make me more efficient at my job.

Yes, immediacy is a tough problem for many instructors Michael. Many have learned over the years to keep up with tasks quickly to keep up with growing class sizes and shrinking faculties. So it's almost in our nature to keep trying to knock tasks out of our queues.

I try and do them right away because I do not like having things "hanging over my head". It is hard to go to sleep at night knowing I have alot to do still. I will start secioning off my list so I can only deal with the most urgent ones first. I have never used a timeline before, but I will start.

I already utilize these tools for tasks to be accomplished. Have a list posted on my desk which I prioritize every week. Normally my down fall is trying to get everything accomplished (immediacy complex).

I usually prioritize my tasks properly and complete them in a timely fashion in order of their importance.

I will change the order, or at least I will try! I need to stop procrasting and do things now so I don't have to do them late at night the night before they are due.

It's good to hear that you've identified the specific challenge that you're dealing with. That's a great first step Angela. Sometimes just putting a name to it helps us face the challenge and deal with it.

Yes, immediacy can really be just as bad as procrastination Robert. Finding a balance between the two is best.

It's good to hear that you have a management that is supportive of your task flow Greg. That can be so helpful when trying to keep productive.

Task that are High priority are tackled first, lower priority are move back and managed at convenient time.I try to task items in their priority as well as possible. Our management lets us accomplish our task as needed in a timely manner. Of course emergency items happen and are dealt with accordingly.I may chnge some working habits but will still follow the same priciples we have discussed.
