To Do List

Should you combine your personal and professional to-do lists? I believe this can help minimize stress and enhance a feeling of control.

Laudina, Yes, sometimes a little work up front can save us a great deal of trouble in the long run. Taking the time to put together lists and prioritize can save us from headaches that arise when we are unprepared.

No, I believe you should have two different lists. This way you do not bring your work stress home and therefore, you do not take your stress from your home life to work.

This is something that I have always done. There are always times where multi-tasking can be done appropriately to take care of personal items when appropriate. Often when work days are long, this seems to be the only way to get ANYTHING done.

I also combine the personal and professional to do lists. Life is entertwined with both personal and professional tasks that are done in the course of a day.

I agree with this. I do this as well. I feel that this helps me prioritize and organize my day/life better.

I use to do lists everyday. I teach all of my students how to make them and use them everyday.

We always need a to do list.

If that's the system that works for you, go with it Tenisha! Some people find that combining lists is the most helpful. Others find that they need to keep lists separate. Do what works for you.

I believe that it is important to combine your personal and professional to-do list. In doing so you are able to organize your task based on urgency. It also helps me to organize my day.

Sometimes this helps instructors Homer. If you think it might help you, go ahead and give it a try. It should be noted though that some instructors are overwhelmed by the combination so be careful of that!
