Calendars
A good calendar system is key to a good todo list
Jennifer, In this day and age, I still meet a lot of instructors who prefer paper over digital scheduling. We are in a transition as a society and to your point, sometimes paper feels a little safer. I should note, having said this, that cloud storage gives us a new kind of flexibility and security that might work well.

I do have one of my schedule online for work, but I also have a paper calander for all my appointments/meeetings I need to attend. It keeps me straight to where I need to go next. I also like the paper version, since technology isn't always working I still have my schedule with me.
My favorite calendar/to do list format is sold by Franklin Covey. I like the two-page system. What's nice about this system is that every two pages represents one calendar day. On the pages are several different areas. One has a time planner, so you list important meetings, classes, etc. Another has a place for your to-do list. This list consists of three columns with a suggested key. One column is for the task. Another column is for the urgency or priortization, and the final column is for your progress (a check if it is complete, initials if it is delegated, and a dot if it is still in progress-which tells you to put it on the following day's list). In addition, the page has a place to track important phone calls or emails. The second page is blank for notes or details you don't want to include on your to-do list. Although expensive, it is (in my opinion) worth it. I hope to get one from Santa for next year.
Would you use a calandar instead of a to-do list or in addition to. Wouldn't that be too confusing with multiple places for to-do lists?
Excellent to hear Diana. Sounds like you are doing a written transfer of notes from paper into your computer. In the future, you might upgrade that system by using an electronic calendar that is accessible from your mobile phone. This would be an investment to setup and an investment to purchase. However, it would eliminate transferring time and any transferring errors that may also occur.
Alway have the trusty calenders in my purse and in front of me daily the transfer it over to computer, check it off. Have a monthly schedule with you at all times for future dates student may need to take off etc...
this will help with items that may be forgotten otherwise
Thanks for the tip Luis! Great point. It's wonderful when you can find technology that helps you stay organized anywhere and everywhere. Google Calendar and many other tools like it can help.
Agreed. I've found great value in powerful calendar systems, such as Google Calendar. I can access it anywhere (on my phone, at school, at home, on vacation... anywhere).
It has a slew of features and options that really allow you to keep good track of your schedule.
