To do list is piece of work which takes stress of urgency. It reminds of class exams, meetings, and all important tasks of your life.
Bob, Yes, You've always got to prepare for the unexpected. This typically means building a buffer into your to do list for tasks that you had not planned for. Prioritization is also key, to your point.

I believe in the to do list as well but it must be prioritized and you also have to leave room for new things that may pop up
Time management is a big issue these days in career schools because of large number of students in each class and demanding administrators. So it depends on the instructors to make a "to do" list in order to meet these demands. Students need extra time for help, time to prepare lesson plan, time to prepare material for the class, time to check quizez and exams, time to post attendence, time...time...
So get ready for everything by writting down "to do" list. prioritize these task according to the urgency and consequences if not accomplished.
Although there are numerous calendar programs available, I have found that Excel works best for me in tracking my task that I need to accomplish. I find that by writing down everything I am able to prioritize what needs to be completed ahead of what I would like to accomplish. On many days, I am able to accomplish both my needs and wants; however, sometimes my needs take longer than I expect. What strategies have you tried to manage your to do list?
