G, Sounds like you have quite an organized system! Thanks for sharing this with us. Yes, it's nice to check up on our lists at the end of each day and week. Follow ups are great too to make sure everything gets handled with care!

I like to keep a small spiral memo notebook in my bac pocket that I use for to do list as well as jotting quick notes so that I don't forget something in the heat of the moment. It also helps alleviate my immediacy problems because I know I have a list of what needs to be done and I won't forget to do it.

I also heavily rely on my post-it note "to-do" list. I have 3 rows (IMMEDIATE, FYI, and to be passed on to someone else/requires further details). At the end of each day I can easily look through these and make sure all IMMEDIATE are either completed or re-categrozed accordingly and all FYI's have been delivered. At the end of each week I follow-up on all the "to be passed on's/requires further..." via e-mail.

Angela, Excellent approach! I don't know what it is about post-it notes but they're not going away anytime soon. So many instructors find them so useful. It's amazing with such great technologies out there to keep us organized. Sometimes it's the simple things that really do the trick.

I do this all the time! If there is a task that I did not get done before the end of the day, I will leave myself a post-it attached to my computer so that it's right in my face when I return the next day. This helps to remind me to get it done within the needed time, and then I don't feel so stressed out. I use this method not only for immediate tasks, but for overall weekly to-do lists, as well.
