Many administrators encourage students to disrespect the time of instructors because they do not have the guts to tell the student/customer that they have to stick to the appointments they (student) set with the instructor.
Snezana, It's hard to say and I often ask myself that very question. Technology can be a wondrous addition when it comes to taking control of you teaching time. Basic calendars found in your email programs and through mobile devices can make a dramatic difference.

Technology has made it so easy these days to organize your time with calenders, timers, email, etc. How did we ever do it before?
I agree. I, also, use my smartphone calender to set reminders for months or years in advance. This helps me to remain organized and reduces the stress of reminding yearly report dates, budgeting and so forth.
Beth, Yes, that little up front investment can pay off big in the end. Sometimes, we've got to take a step back in order to take a few steps forward.
