Roxsie, Go for it! Many instructors find that there are incredible benefits to using to do lists. This is especially true for instructors who are balancing many tasks at once and / or those who have to complete tasks quickly.

I actually have utilized To Do lists in my work and in my life for years. Not only does it help me prioritize my efforts and make sure that important tasks get done first, it helps me organize my daily and weekly thoughts so that nothing (no matter how mundane) gets forgotten.

I have never really used to do lists but I am going to try it to see if it will help to reduce my stress.

Nikki, Interesting approach. For some instructors with slower queues, a temporary list may be all you need. You may only have to implement this method when you are truly stressed and may be able to step away from it when your queue slows down. If this describes you, sounds like you've found the right approach.

I use what I call "temporary to do lists" because I feel it helps relieve anxiety related to being overworked.

It helps relieve stress of having a great workload. Although I rarely forget what I have to do, it is reassuring to know I can refer to a list.

Sara, That sounds like a great system and I'm glad to hear that to do lists work so well for you! Yes, sometimes it is handy to actually assign a day to the week to complete each task. Some instructors thrive with this kind of structure.
