CONTROL OF YOUR TIME

BY CONTROLING YOUR TIME YOU WILL HAVE LESS STRESS AND BE RUSHING TO GET THINGS DONE.

I use a hybrid approach. When tasks are time-sensitive (drop-dead deadlines) I will set up an appt in Outlook or on my phone. The phone uses my gmail account and then when the time hits, I get notifications all over the place! For most other tasks, I like the pen & paper approach. Crossing items off a list with a pen or pencil is just so satisfying!

Latasha, That's excellent to hear! A slow introduction and test of new learning tools can be the best approach to enhancing your classroom experience.

Im steady trying new things to make learning easier for my students.

Gail, All great points, especially the part about your department being organized too. Great time management across your organization benefits you too.

It is so true that the more you organize your to-do list, the less stress you will experience. I must add that having organization within your department, organization, and the people responsible for tasks is also helpful. When we prioritize and organize our list and think that we are in control and fully organized, it is even more stressful when things out of your control create havoc with your to-do list.

Latasha, This is true. We can produce far more quality outputs with a little planning in advance. Planning takes a bit of the stress and worry away too.

If a teacher is organized they will not only have time managment with a "list" but also they will accomplished alot more. The task will get done accurately as well.

Wow! Seems like people have a lot to do. The pen and paper works fine. That and getting things done in a timely fashion instead of spending time making and organizing huge lists.

Sara, Thanks for sharing your thoughts. A lot of us are evolving from pen and paper people to technology people. The process of making the switch can feel like a setback but the reality is, we can get really far after the initial investment. If you are interested in making the transition, go for it. It is well worth the effort!

I really like the idea of using a time stamp, and recording all of the "To-Do's" on my phone, as I always have that with me. I previously have used the trusty paper and pen, but as my lists get longer I have the feeling of immediacy and abort my mission of task writing and get to work instead. I think using technology would be a good way for me to be less frustrated about how long it takes me to write and prioritize my lists, as well as always having my list with me.

Tracy, Yes, having a to do list can make us feel so much more organized and efficient. It can help with our productivity too!

I agree there is an APP for that! I love to not only organize my "to do" I also jot down (via text) new ideas onto my Notepad. When I am waiting in lines, or for an appointment I read back my great ideas and add to them.

This is true..I write everything done.If its for work or at home I have lists written.I feel I can better organize my time & I am able to accomplish all the tasks this way.

Sonia, I understand exactly where you are coming from. Sometimes it's just too much for us to remember all of our tasks. We can be far more productive if we write out lists and free up our minds for other things!

I keep all of my to do items organized on my iphone. Whenever a more pressing task comes up, I prioritize it with a time stamp.

With a task management list showing priorities in order helps you to be much more organized therefore saving you time. Do not ever trust tasks to memory. Writing down your tasks helps you remember instantly. I feel more in control when I can review my list of tasks.
