Making More Time for You

I really liked this section because I can relate to the topic of oraganization and on how if you are more organzied you can save yourself time that is lost or wasted when trying to find things. I pride myself as being an organized instructor and set it up as a personal challenge every day to get my tasks done as quickly, efficiently, and consistently as I can. I particularly liked the section which talks about trying to determine one specific time to set aside to do clerical work. For example, one set time to check your voicemails or emails. I find that many times I am overloaded with clerical work and sometimes it can be overwhelming. Sometimes I am confused to as how I can balance the work so that it does not interfere with the interface between me and my students. I really appreciated this section and I will try adapting it to my regular routine.

Limited access to technology in and outside the classroom can be a major stressor James. You might try getting a little work done on your personal computer before coming in to the office if that is possible.

still working out the kinks with other instructors
as to sharing computors.
administration can't seem to be able to find the time to install enough of them so we all have access to one when we need one.
i am sure some day down road the situation will be
rectified and i will be able to set up a regular routine

Cleaning as you go is a great way to save time while cooking Kim. I've found another trick that works well during dinner time. You can unload the dishwasher right onto the dinner table to serve your next meal - instead if putting plates in cabinets earlier in the day.

I to have a routine as I am sure most people do. I like to stay organized so that there is less to do everyday. Like when I cook - I clean as I go so then when I am done I can sit down and enjoy my meal.

I agree with this. it was a great reviw.and i enjoyed this section as well.

I like your approach Staci! Assigning dedicated days and times to work on tasks assures that they will be completed.

I have found that I block out certain days of the week to do my grading. Tuesday and Thursdays are my grading days. It helps me get organized and schedule other important things like meetings and projects throughout my week.

I enjoyed this section as well. I have a routine and time for everything. This works for me.
