synchronous and asynchronous course formats
Could someone explain synchronous and asynchronous course formats to me?
Now it makes sense! I too was trying to figure out what both formats were. I hadn't heard those term regarding course formats before and wasn't able to find any other reference to them in this particular portion of the course.
Sure thing Craig! With asynchronous formats, often administered online, students go at their own pace. They view lectures, ask questions and take exams while their instructors may be offline. Their instructors then respond to them an grade at different times - when they are available. With synchronous course formats, often live and face to face, students learn and are evaluated in real time.
I would also like a definition;I found nothing footnoting the reference anywhere I've looked.
