re:more time

i have been utilizing my lunch breaks to meditate or excersice

What a wonderful approach for both physical and mental health!!! I'm sure that your students are making note of these activities as well

I have incorporated short breathing exercises into class for students. Taking a couple minutes to breath deeply relaxes and invigorates the students and teaches them how to cope with stress in the future.

I understand and can relate to those who tend to sit at the desk and push on to get everything done that is required but I too find that at the end of the day I am having to double check things as things become clouded or just plain run out of energy by the end of the day and I also notice that I dont't cope with difficult issues as well. I may even keep it together pretty well until I get home and then I become useless and nonproductive at home which is not good for my family.

I think exercising or meditating or even having lunch with co-workers can be a good break, although I admit sometime I just want to push through to get things done, I have the same problem that I am exhausted by the end of the day

It is very hard for me to not continue working during breaks. It is not good time management because I loose so much steam for the end of the day. I am trying to complete my important projects first so I feel lighter and then can do the shorter tasks. Marilyn

Nicole, Sounds like an effective use of your time. It's great to be able to make the most out of our breaks. Though tempting, I recommend not working through them. Easier said than done of course!
