More time to
Meditate on how much time you really need to develop new or old materials
Eileen, I like your thinking. It's great to reach out to our networks and build upon the materials that fellow instructors have produced. What a time saver. For courses that you are familiar with, it can also be nice to ask fellow instructors for their materials just to see how they communicate topics differently. Sometimes when swapping course materials, I find new approaches or ways of instructing that I can use to upgrade my lectures.

Since I have only been teachin for 1-1/2 year...I ask other instructors who taught the course for there materials. I read through them and see what I want to keep and what I need to add to make it more my own style. This helps a lot. Sometimes we only have a few days to preapre bewteen semesters.

Before I teach a new class or before each phase I look at the materials provided to determine what I can use from previous classes as well as what new materials have been provided
