Stress

We have many stressors in our daily lives. Since we cannot eliminate certain stressors it is important that we learn how to manage stress.

Acknowledgment is the key to survival when it pertains to STRESS.

I agree with your comment Donald; we cannot change what we do not acknowledge.

I agree that we do have different stressors in our lives; however I think it is important that we in some way incorporate in our lectures to students how to manage different levels of stresses in our lives.

Yes, a certain amount of stress can help instructors and students meet course objectives. In these cases, stress can be a good thing. However, when stress levels become too high it can limit our productivity.

I agree Donald. Band aid solutions are not the best approach. Getting to the core of the problem and dealing with it is key. Thereafter, taking a little 'preventative medicine' works too.

I feel the before you can manage any stress, you must first identify the cause and admit to it's existance. I've made the mistake of denying the fact that things stress me out and tried to justify stress by saying to myself "that's just the way it is". I've learned now to ask myself "what's the problem" and how can the problem be addressed. The stressful things are still there, but now I know how to recognize them

STRESS this is the ultimate career downer. In my short time as an instructor I have seen guys and gals stress out over text books. My take is; if it helps you to meet your course objective then what the heck. We have so many stressors as instructors so at certain time we need to step back and reflect on our actions.
