Stress

One thing that stresses me out is when adult students talk while you or another student are talking or lecturing. Teaching in any way, shape, or form is stressful. I get up every day and say to myself that I am going to have a good day.I always try to be prepared. In fact, I am usually over prepared. This helps my stress level.

That's a nice strategy Richard. It works a lot better than correcting the student in front of the entire class. Helps them keep on track without being embarrassed in front of their peers.

This is something that stresses me out. When i am tring to go over projects and a new student is interpting I wait until break and pull the student aside and ask them not to interupt while i am talking. wait till i am finished then it is there turn.

Its stressfull and the instructor is there to provide structure and rules to prevent an unorganized classroom.

I agree, it is very stressful i always do the same.

I simply stop talking and stare at the student who is. Their conversation ends very quickly when the whole class mimics me, quietly staring at the offenders. It's pretty funny. Believe it or not, I don't usually have a problem with students talking during my lectures after the first day or two of class.

It's very frustrating when students talk during your lectures - particularly adult students who we expect to be more respectful Sandra. Some instructors have non verbal techniques for dealing with such challenges. For example, they will lecture right next to the student who is talking. This calls attention to the students' inappropriate behavior without verbal reprimand.
